Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026: Opening Night Brings New Magic to the Magic Kingdom 🎃👻
The ghosts are back, the candy is flowing, and Magic Kingdom has officially gone from magical to fang-tastic!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially returned to Walt Disney World, kicking off its 31st year on August 7, 2026. And while many of the fan-favorite traditions guests know and love are back, Disney has added some exciting new entertainment and experiences that make this year’s party worth talking about.
From a brand-new Stitch experience to a pirate takeover in Adventureland, new Cast Member costumes, roaming entertainment, trick-or-treating and plenty of favorite characters, there is a LOT happening during this year’s party.
So grab your Mickey ears, put on your favorite costume and let’s take a look at everything you need to know about the 2026 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
🎃 The 31st Fang-tastic Year!
It feels a little strange to say that Halloween has officially arrived at Walt Disney World in August, but Disney isn't waiting around!
The 2026 season marks the 31st year of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, continuing one of Walt Disney World’s most beloved seasonal traditions.
The separately ticketed event transforms Magic Kingdom into a Halloween celebration filled with exclusive entertainment, characters, trick-or-treating, special food and drinks, merchandise and spooky surprises.
And don't worry—the party is still not-so-scary, making it a fantastic Halloween experience for families who want all the fun without the fright.
🕸️ When Is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
The 2026 party takes place on select nights from August 7 through October 31.
- August 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28 and 30
- September 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27 and 29
- October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31)
The official party hours are 7:00 PM to midnight, although guests with a party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM.
On party nights, Magic Kingdom closes to regular day guests at 6:00 PM, so a separate Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket is required to remain in the park for the event.
🗺️ Don't Forget Your Party Map!

One of the first things I recommend doing when you arrive is grabbing the official party map.
It is your guide to the evening and helps you keep track of:
- 🎃 Trick-or-treat locations
- 👻 Character meet-and-greets
- 🎶 Dance parties and entertainment
- 🏴☠️ New shows
- 🍭 Specialty treats
- 🛍️ Party-exclusive merchandise
- 🎆 Parade and fireworks information
There is way too much happening to do everything in one night, so having an idea of your priorities before the party begins can make a huge difference.
🍬 Trick-or-Treating Throughout Magic Kingdom

Yes, adults can trick-or-treat too!
Guests can visit designated treat trails throughout Magic Kingdom and collect complimentary candy throughout the night. Disney provides treat bags, although bringing your own larger bag can be helpful if you plan to collect a serious amount of candy.
And there are options for guests with food allergies. Guests can request an allergy-friendly teal bag and visit the designated allergy-friendly locations for alternative treats.
My biggest tip? Don't feel like you have to trick-or-treat immediately at 7 PM.
The candy isn't going anywhere, and the first hour of the party is a great time to take advantage of entertainment and character opportunities before lines potentially grow.
👻 Character Meet-and-Greets

If meeting rare Disney characters is high on your list, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the best opportunities of the year.
In 2026, guests can encounter characters including:
- 🎃 Mickey and Minnie in Halloween attire
- 👻 Jack Skellington and Sally
- 🧞 Genie, Aladdin and Abu
- 🧙♂️ Jafar
- 🏴☠️ Jack Sparrow
- 💀 The Country Bears
- 🎃 Pirate Goofy, Pumpkin Donald and Princess Daisy
- 🧛 Stitch, Angel, & Lilo
- 🧸 Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore
- 🧜♀️ Ariel and Prince Eric
- 👑 Belle and Gaston
- 😈 Disney Villains

Some characters are also appearing in roaming or unexpected locations, making the party map particularly helpful.
⚰️ A Haunted Mansion Surprise on Market Street

If you're lucky enough to experience the Market Street Welcome area before it closes at 8 PM, keep your eyes open for some particularly spooky visitors.
The Haunted Mansion comes to life with characters including the Gravediggers, who are making a rare appearance outside of their traditional parade role.
For Haunted Mansion fans, this is definitely one to add to the list!
✨ NEW: Stitch's Masquerade Mashup

One of the biggest new additions for 2026 is taking place in Tomorrowland.
💙 Stitch's Masquerade Mashup
Over at the Rockettower Plaza Stage, Stitch is hosting an ever-changing masquerade with Lilo and Angel.
The premise is absolutely perfect for Stitch: after getting his paws on Lilo's costume trunk, Stitch begins experimenting with different accessories—and each new accessory sparks a different theme!
The result is an unpredictable, playful experience that changes throughout the evening.
This new entertainment offering runs from 7 PM to midnight, giving guests plenty of opportunities to stop by throughout the party. Disney specifically highlighted the Stitch, Lilo and Angel masquerade as one of the new experiences for 2026.
🏴☠️ NEW: Captain Jack's Buccaneer Bash
Adventureland has officially been taken over by pirates!
Located on the Adventureland Stage across from Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Jack's Buccaneer Bash brings Captain Jack Sparrow into the Halloween Party lineup.
The experience features rotating performances, audience interaction, live music and juggling—and guests may even get a surprise appearance from Captain Barbossa.
This is a particularly exciting addition for Pirates of the Caribbean fans, and it gives Adventureland a whole new reason to linger during the party.
⚡ Max's Powerline Performance Gets a New Format
Fans of Max and Powerline will notice another change this year.
The Powerline performance that was previously presented as a pre-parade has returned as a roaming stage show, giving guests another opportunity to catch the fun throughout the evening.
🎶 Destination DescenDANCE Party

Over at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café, the party continues with the Destination DescenDANCE Party.
Inspired by Disney's Descendants films, guests can dance along to music and moves inspired by the movies.
This is a great option for families with kids and tweens who may be looking for something a little different from the traditional Halloween entertainment.
💀 The Cadaver Dans Are Back
Of course, Halloween in Magic Kingdom wouldn't be complete without the Cadaver Dans.
Head to Frontierland to hear this spooky spin on the Dapper Dans as they perform their signature barbershop harmonies—with plenty of their trademark "dead pan" humor.
They're one of those classic MNSSHP experiences that absolutely belongs on your must-do list!
🎆 The Classics Are Still Here
While 2026 brings some exciting new experiences, Disney hasn't forgotten the traditions that make this party so special.
🎃 Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade

One of the biggest highlights of the night is still Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, featuring Mickey and friends in Halloween costumes, Disney villains, the Haunted Mansion ghosts and, of course, the Headless Horseman leading the way.
If seeing the parade is important to you, make sure you plan ahead for your viewing location.
🔮 Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The Sanderson Sisters are back!
The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular returns to the Cinderella Castle stage, bringing Winifred, Mary and Sarah back together with some of Disney's most wicked villains.
It's one of the most popular shows of the entire party—and for good reason.

🎆 Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
And then there's the nighttime spectacular.
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fills the sky above Cinderella Castle with projections, special effects and fireworks as Jack Skellington helps tell a Halloween story.
If you're trying to decide between fireworks and another activity, remember that this is one of the few experiences that is truly unique to the party.
👕 NEW Cast Member Costumes

One of the more unexpected changes this year has nothing to do with entertainment.
Disney introduced new Cast Member costumes specifically for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
And let's just say...the internet had opinions.
The new designs have been somewhat controversial among Disney fans, with many guests saying they miss the colorful, whimsical look of the previous party costumes.
At the same time, the new costumes appear to focus more on comfort and practicality for Cast Members working long, hot Florida evenings.
Love them or hate them, there's no denying that they're one of the most noticeable visual changes at this year's party.
🍿 New Halloween Treats & Merchandise
Of course, what's a Disney Halloween party without snacks?
2026 brings a lineup of Halloween-themed food and drinks, including several new offerings. Some of the standouts include Doom Buggy Dumplings, Graveyard Hot Chicken and Waffle, Skull-icious Cake, Hatbox Ghost Pop and other spooky creations throughout Magic Kingdom.
And Haunted Mansion fans have another reason to celebrate with a new Hatbox Ghost popcorn bucket, complete with a disappearing-and-reappearing head effect inspired by the attraction.
There is also exclusive 2026 party merchandise available while supplies last.
🎃 Is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Worth It?
If you're a Disney fan—or simply love Halloween—I'd say absolutely.
But here's the catch: you can't do it all.
Between character meet-and-greets, trick-or-treating, parades, fireworks, shows, dance parties, attractions, food and shopping, five hours can disappear incredibly quickly.
My recommendation is to pick your top three priorities before you arrive.
For example:
Want rare characters? Prioritize your character meet-and-greets.
Traveling with little ones? Focus on the parade, trick-or-treating and kid-friendly entertainment.
Halloween foodie? Build your evening around specialty treats.
Want to experience everything new? Make Stitch's Masquerade Mashup and Captain Jack's Buccaneer Bash priorities.
And if you can, take advantage of the 4 PM entry. Those extra three hours before the official party start can be incredibly valuable.
👻 The Bottom Line
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is officially back—and its 31st year is bringing plenty of new magic to Magic Kingdom.
From Stitch's unpredictable masquerade to Captain Jack Sparrow's pirate takeover, new entertainment formats, new costumes and new Halloween treats, Disney has given longtime party guests some fresh reasons to return.
But the heart of the party remains the same: candy, costumes, characters, fireworks, parades and a whole lot of Halloween magic.
And honestly?
There's just something about walking down Main Street, U.S.A., in your Halloween costume while Cinderella Castle glows in the background, hearing the music of the Boo-To-You Parade in the distance and realizing that you're celebrating Halloween at Disney.
That's the kind of spooky season I can get behind. 🎃✨
