Set Sail on a Disney Cruise to Two Private Islands in the Bahamas: All the Perks, No Stress!

The morning sun, warm and inviting, kissed the deck of the Disney Wish as we awoke to the gentle sway of the ocean. Today was the day we had been dreaming of – a stop at two of Disney Cruise Line’s exclusive private islands in the Bahamas: Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay. From the moment we stepped off the ship, a sense of effortless safety and comfort enveloped us.

Upon disembarking, friendly crew members greeted us, pointing the way to complimentary trams that whisked us away from the ship to the heart of the island’s activities. My granddaughter, clutched her Mickey Mouse plush, squealed with delight as she passed swaying palm trees and sparkling turquoise water. Her parents exchanged a relieved glance. They knew that on a Disney private island, every detail was handled.

Our first stop at Castaway Cay was the family beach. Finding the perfect spot was easy, as rows of vibrant blue umbrellas and comfortable lounge chairs awaited. Fresh towels were readily available, eliminating the need to pack our own. When thirst struck, numerous water stations dotted the island., They also offered island drinks such as pina coladas for a minimal cost. Fun shops with souvenirs provided a place where we could buy toys to play in the sand, sunscreen, t-shirts, collectibles, etc.

For the grandkids, the highlight was the sprawling Pelican Plunge, a floating splash pad with slides and water features that kept them giggling for hours. Nearby, dedicated lifeguards kept a watchful eye, giving their parents a peace of mind. As lunchtime approached, the aroma of a delicious BBQ wafted through the air. Cookies BBQ, one of the complimentary dining options, offered a delectable spread of burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and fresh fruit. Restrooms, sparkling clean and easily accessible, were never far away.

In the afternoon, we hopped back on the tram for a short ride to another part of the beach.  The island’s vibrant colors and unique Bahamian-inspired architecture were captivating. Here, my daughter and I decided to try an excursion. We opted for a paddle boat adventure, renting gear directly on the island was easy and convenient. There were many excursion options such as snorkeling, supervised stingray interaction, boat trips, aqua cycles and many more options. Each activity felt incredibly secure, with well-maintained equipment and attentive staff. It was a fun adventure. So beautiful, peaceful, incredible, and fun.

As the day wound down and the golden hour painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, my family and I leisurely made our way back to the ship. No need to worry about transportation or getting lost – the well-marked paths and frequent tram service ensured a smooth return.

Back on board the Magic, we reflected on our day. Disney Cruise Line had truly delivered. From plentiful food and clean bathrooms to ample umbrellas, readily available water and towels, exciting splash pads, diverse excursions and rentals, and seamless transportation, every necessity was provided. More importantly, they felt completely safe and cared for, allowing us to truly relax and create unforgettable memories on our magical Bahamian escape.

The awesome thing was that we got to do it all over again on Lookout Cay Disney’s other private island. The adventure was about to begin on another island. This was an amazing opportunity and I know that your family will enjoy it also. Please contact me and I would be happy to help you go on this amazing island adventure.
