Just Announced: Utopia of the Seas Will Set Sail Summer 2024
Royal Caribbean is known for state-of-the-art ships, bold innovation, never-ending excitement, and ultimate relaxation. Founded in 1968, Royal Caribbean has spent the last 64 years mastering cruising. Whether it's a weekend getaway or a 9-month voyage around the world (we're looking at you, Ultimate World Cruise), this cruise line is constantly pushing boundaries and redefining the meaning of vacation- and they've just announced they're going to be making waves once again next summer with Utopia of the Seas. Here, we'll discuss what we know so far.
Utopia of the Seas will be joining Royal Caribbean's 27 other ships, and will be a part of the Oasis class (this means the ship will share similarities with the other ships in the Oasis class; for more information on Royal Caribbean's classes, read our post here). Upon its launch, Utopia will set its anchor in Port Canaveral and focus in Caribbean cruises- including Royal Caribbean's very own island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. One of the biggest draws of this cruise is that it will have shorter itineraries, making it perfect for busy families or those looking for a weekend getaway.
Foodies- rejoice! Utopia of the Seas takes indulgence seriously, as it will offer over 40 ways to drink and dine. Royal Caribbean fans can anticipate the return of favorites like Izumi, The Mason Jar, Chops Grille, Hooked Seafood, and Giovanni's, as well as the arrival of new eateries like Gio's Terrazza and a new immersive dining experience that has yet to be announced. Anyone suffering from choice paralysis can also head to the buffet, for international theme nights with over 200 dishes every night. Cruisers looking to unwind with drinks will be pleased to know that the ship will feature over 20 spots serving libations (five of which will double as live music venues).
Be sure to pack sunscreen, because Utopia of the Seas will feature five onboard pools, ensuring the ultimate pool day, everyday. The top deck of the ship will have three of the five ships- two resort style pools and one beach-entry pool. Adults looking to unwind can enjoy the adult-only solarium. Adventure-seekers can look forward to the return of the well-loved waterslide trio, The Perfect Storm. Fans of The Ultimate Abyss can experience all new thrills on Utopia of the Seas, now 43 feet longer than any version before it, making it the longest dry slide at sea.
Cruisers can also look forward to other exciting onboard activities, like spending the day with Lady Luck herself at the onboard casino, or finding their inner superstar at Spotlight Karaoke. Latin hotspot, Boleros, will also be available for anyone looking to dance the night away. Sports fans can take advantage of Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade, and music fans can hang out with the best cover bands at sea at Music Hall. The ship will also feature The Attic, an adults-only comedy club modeled after Manhattan's dark and intimate comedy clubs. Royal Caribbean is known for its jaw-dropping entertainment, and Utopia of the Seas is no exception. The AquaTheater makes a return on this ship, as well as mezmerizing ice skating shows, beloved Broadway-style shows, and more.
There's a lot that has yet to be announced, but we can already tell that Utopia of the Seas will be one of the hottest cruises to set sail. If you want to experience the ultimate weekend getaway, reach out to a Vacation Navigator today, and they can help get you booked as early as Friday, June 23rd.
