How Disney Destiny is Becoming Even More Marvel-ous
How Disney Destiny Is Getting More Marvel-ous
Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has recently announced exciting new features on its upcoming ship, the Disney Destiny. This vessel promises a unique experience inspired by Marvel's heroes and villains, creating a magical voyage for families and Marvel fans alike.
When the Disney Destiny sets sail, guests will find new ways to interact with beloved characters and stories from the Marvel Universe. The ship will feature themed venues and entertainment inspired by characters such as Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Iron Man.
Brian Crosby, executive at Marvel Experiences Development, shared, "The heroes and villains theme of the Disney Destiny provides the perfect platform for us to collaborate with Disney Cruise Line on all-new, Marvel-inspired experiences guests won’t find anywhere else on land or at sea across the multiverse."
Upcoming Itineraries and Booking Information
The Disney Destiny will begin its inaugural season in November 2025, offering four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Bookings will open to the general public on September 12, 2024.
Marvel-Themed Venues and Suites
The Grand Hall, inspired by Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,” will be the ship’s central gathering space, featuring design elements and a breathtaking light fixture inspired by Vibranium. A statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther, will preside over this space, providing a dynamic environment for immersive shows and interactive programming.
Saga, located just off the Grand Hall, will be a hub for family activities during the day and adult-exclusive entertainment in the evenings. The Sanctum, inspired by Doctor Strange, will offer a magical array of cocktails, spirits, and coffees, surrounded by mystical artifacts.
For the first time in DCL history, a Marvel Super Hero—Spider-Man—will be the signature stern character, highlighting the ship’s theme and personality. The Destiny Tower Suite, inspired by Iron Man, will offer luxurious accommodations with stunning views and exclusive amenities.
Exclusive Experiences and Premium Services
Guests staying in the Destiny Tower Suite and concierge-level accommodations will enjoy dedicated service and access to exclusive areas, including the Concierge Lounge and private sun deck. The lounge will celebrate the Avengers with sophisticated art pieces inspired by their Manhattan headquarters.
The ship will also feature fan-favorite experiences from other Disney Cruise Line ships, such as the Worlds of Marvel dining experience and the Marvel Super Hero Academy in Disney's Oceaneer Club for kids.
Expanding the Disney Cruise Line Fleet
The Disney Destiny is part of a multi-year expansion of the DCL fleet, which includes the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Adventure, and a new island destination in the Bahamas, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Additionally, Disney Cruise Line has announced plans for cruises in Japan starting in 2029.
